Rationale for this Course
Parents are conditioned to search for and access information in various ways today and have apps for most functions in their lives. It is important that teachers understand the platforms that are available and that they are using, and the ramifications for their school community.
Objectives of this Course
Teachers will gain insight into the best ways to communicate with parents/carers that are effective and easy to use for parents. Various communication platforms will be introduced to participants to assist them determine the best fit for their classroom environment. The pros and cons of the various platforms are presented as well as mechanisms for gathering data that is useful and informative. By using communication strategies that are effective, can provide greater opportunities for parents/carers to be more involved in their children’s learning.
